The future of ageing at home is preventive.

We’re developing technology to help older people live independently and safely in their own homes for longer.

02The problem

More older people are living alone.

Not every risk begins as an emergency.

Sometimes it starts with a small change.

  • A different routine.
  • An unusual pattern.
  • Something that goes unnoticed.

Most systems can react to commands. Very few can understand what is changing around a person at home.

That is the gap.

03Why now

Ageing at home is becoming a bigger challenge.

22%

of the EU population was aged 65 or over in 2025.

In 2005, it was 17%.

6.7 million

one-person households are projected in Spain by 2041, representing 30.6% of all households if current trends continue.

Includes one-person households of all ages.

The need for better support at home is growing.

04What is ATLAS

ATLAS turns the home from a passive space into an environment that can pay attention to what is happening.

It is designed to identify relevant changes, build context around what is happening and highlight situations that may require attention.

The goal is not to replace families or caregivers, but to support safer and more independent living at home.

05How it works

Detect. Interpret. Act.

ATLAS connects perception, intelligence and action in one system.

01

Detect

ATLAS uses computer vision, voice and audio, together with environmental and connected sensors, to capture relevant information about what is happening inside the home.

  • Computer vision
  • Voice & audio
  • Environmental sensors
  • Connected devices

02

Interpret

Artificial intelligence analyses and combines these signals to build context, recognise relevant changes and identify situations that may represent a potential risk.

03

Act

When a situation may require attention, ATLAS can initiate verification, surface relevant alerts and make the situation visible through the ATLAS application so the situation can be assessed and an appropriate response can follow.

Below: real screens from the ATLAS prototype.

Normal

System operational.

ATLAS prototype app, system status card: “Everything looks normal”, location Office.

Verify

A possible fall is detected. ATLAS starts verifying whether help is needed.

ATLAS prototype app, system status card: “Checking on you. ATLAS is verifying a possible fall.” ATLAS prototype app, incident location panel with the camera view of the room during verification: a person lying on the floor in a simulated fall.

Alert

If there is no response, the situation becomes an active alert.

ATLAS prototype app, system status card: “Emergency in progress. ATLAS is notifying your contacts.” ATLAS prototype app, incident location panel with the camera view of the room while the emergency is active.

ATLAS app

A critical notification makes the situation visible.

Critical notification from the ATLAS prototype: “ATLAS — Emergency detected. A possible fall was detected in the office. ATLAS has activated the emergency protocol.” (English rendering of the original notification.)

Respond

The situation can be assessed and an appropriate response can follow.

Functional prototype

From concept to functional prototype.

ATLAS is already operating as an integrated prototype and is currently being validated in a real home environment.

06What ATLAS enables

Technology matters because of what it helps preserve.

For older people

  • More time at home.
  • More independence.
  • More continuity in the way they live.

For families and caregivers

  • More context.
  • Earlier awareness of relevant changes.
  • A clearer picture when attention may be needed.

ATLAS is designed to support people, not replace them.

07Development

Where we are today

ATLAS is in the final stage of developing its functional prototype.

We are currently validating:

  1. the hardware architecture,
  2. the software architecture,
  3. the integration between sensing, intelligence and response,
  4. and the system as a whole in a real home environment.

The focus now is to turn the prototype into a robust foundation for the next stage of development.

08Team

The team behind ATLAS

ATLAS brings together product, software and hardware to turn a vision into a working system.

Jaime Blanco on LinkedIn (opens in a new tab)

Jaime founded ATLAS and leads the project’s vision, product direction and business development. With a background in Marketing at ESIC University, he has shaped ATLAS from the initial concept into a functional prototype.

His work spans product strategy, business model development, positioning, partnerships and the coordination of the platform’s technical development. He is also directly involved in implementing and testing the prototype, working across smart-home infrastructure, IoT integration and automation.

His focus is to turn ATLAS into a viable product capable of helping older people remain independent in their own homes for longer.

Lucas works on the software and artificial intelligence layer of ATLAS, helping develop the capabilities that allow the system to interpret information gathered from the home.

His work focuses on machine learning and the software components needed to transform different signals into meaningful context. Within ATLAS, he is involved in computer-vision-based fall detection, sensor-data interpretation, voice-related functionality and the reasoning layer that connects multiple sources of information.

His role is key to moving ATLAS beyond isolated sensors and towards a system capable of combining perception, context and intelligent decision-making.

Hardware Engineer · ATLAS

Laura leads the hardware engineering work behind ATLAS, helping define the physical architecture that will allow the different sensing and computing capabilities of the system to operate together inside the home.

Her work includes defining hardware requirements, system architecture, component selection, technical specifications and the integration of the different elements needed to move from a prototype built with commercial devices towards a more integrated ATLAS hardware platform.

Her role is focused on turning the technical concept into a feasible, scalable physical system and creating the hardware foundation required for future versions of the product.

09Our vision

We believe the home can become an active part of how people age.

Today, telecare, home care and the support provided by families already play an essential role in helping older people live safely and with dignity.

Presence, companionship and human care remain irreplaceable.

ATLAS is designed to add another layer of support — helping the home contribute with context, awareness and earlier signals when attention may be needed, with the aim of supporting independent living at home for longer and, where possible, delaying the need for residential care.

Our ambition is not to replace what already works, but to help the future of ageing at home continue to evolve.

A future where human care and intelligent homes work better together.
